Andrew Schor

Co-Founder & Executive Chairman

Andrew Schor co-founded InterCapital Group and has been exclusively involved in the multifamily industry for more than 30 years.

Over the course of his career, Andy has assembled apartment portfolios aggregating more than 110,000 units, and has had direct responsibility for the acquisition, capitalization, financing, renovation, marketing, management and disposition of those properties. Andy has been active in real estate transactions throughout the United States, has owned and managed investment portfolios of properties throughout the country valued at over $7 billion, and has handled all substantive phases of real estate ownership and management. Andy holds degrees from Brown University, Oxford University and the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. He sits on InterCapital Group’s investment committee.

Edward Biskind

Co-Founder & Executive Chairman

Edward Biskind co-founded InterCapital Group and has over 45 years of executive experience in all aspects of real estate investment, management and development. With particular expertise in multi-family housing, his background has run the gamut from hands-on field construction to acquisition/rehab and ground-up greenfield development. Ed’s career began in a successful Cleveland based family-owned home building and commercial real estate enterprise. He opened his own office in Chicago after graduate school in 1989. His activities have included the development and operation of regional malls, office buildings and power centers, townhome and single family communities, and particularly multifamily assets, throughout the United States. He has completed landmark multifamily and luxury for-sale residential projects throughout the country. Ed is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and holds an MBA degree from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. He sits on InterCapital Group’s investment committee.

Melissa Pianko

Managing Partner

Melissa Pianko has over 20 years of experience in real estate investments, development, and asset management. She joined InterCapital as a Partner in November 2023 where she is responsible for investments and asset management. Together with Benjamin Schor, she is Co-CEO of Dayrise Residential, its affiliated property manager. Previously, she was a Managing Director at Blackstone where she led asset management for Blackstone’s 300k unit US and Canadian residential portfolio (apartments, affordable housing and single- family rentals). From 2005 to 2016, Melissa oversaw development for Gotham Organization, a privately held NYC multifamily developer. She started her career at Goldman Sachs in municipal finance and real estate investment banking. Melissa received an MBA from Stanford and a BA from Columbia. She sits on the board of Enterprise Community Partners, one of the nation’s largest nonprofits dedicated to supporting affordable housing, and is a full Member of Urban Land Institute (Multifamily Silver Council) and Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Greenwich Chapter. She sits on InterCapital’s investment committee.

Benjamin Schor

Managing Partner

Benjamin Schor serves as Partner and is responsible for InterCapital's investment and asset management business. Since joining in 2013, Benjamin has focused on real estate investments across the United States totaling over 50,000 units and approximately $4 Billion in asset value. In addition to his role at InterCapital, Benjamin is Co-CEO of Dayrise Residential, a national property management company and affiliate of InterCapital. Benjamin graduated from Yale University, where he received his MBA. He received his BS in International Relations from Boston University. He sits on InterCapital Group’s investment committee.

Erich Klothen

Principal

Erich Klothen is a Principal at InterCapital Group and Chief Operating Officer of Dayrise Residential, its affiliated property management company. Since joining Dayrise in 2019, Erich has specialized in transaction management with an emphasis on due-diligence for all acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining InterCapital, Erich worked in international development, including serving in the United States Peace Corps as a volunteer in Albania. He attended Wesleyan University and Rutgers University.

Melissa Morales

Chief Financial Officer

Melissa Morales is the CFO of InterCapital Group and Dayrise Residential where she has worked since 2022. As CFO she partners with owners, stakeholders and team leads, overseeing company finance and accounting, financial planning and supports investor relations. Melissa began her career in public accounting, transitioning to privately held organizations and family offices. Throughout her 25+ year career, Melissa has leveraged her experience, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for talent development to support strategic initiatives. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has held licenses in Louisiana, Alaska, Arizona and currently in Texas.

Tara Tomimoto

Vice President

Tara Tomimoto is a Vice President at InterCapital Group where she focuses on acquisitions. Prior to joining InterCapital in 2024, Tara spent over seven years at Blackstone in the Real Estate Private Equity group. At Blackstone, Tara underwrote investments across all asset classes, with a focus on multifamily. While at Blackstone, she worked on over $15 billion of real estate transactions, including the take-private of Extended Stay America, the acquisition of Colony Capital’s industrial platform as well as several billion dollars of multifamily real estate investments across the U.S. Tara also led the disposition of $750 million of Sunbelt multifamily properties for Blackstone. Tara received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mats Fiolet

Senior Associate

Mats Fiolet is a Senior Associate of InterCapital Group where he focuses on acquisitions, transactions, and capital structures. He joined InterCapital Group in 2024, following his role at its subsidiary, Dayrise Residential. At Dayrise, Mats played a key role in fostering a data-driven approach across the organization and in its engagement with external stakeholders. Mats holds a BA from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Amsterdam.

Sydney Schor

Associate

Sydney Schor is an Associate at InterCapital Group. She joined Dayrise, InterCapital group’s affiliated property management company in 2019, and transitioned to the InterCapital team in 2021. Sydney has focused on strategically supporting operations, investments, and client relations. Prior to joining Dayrise, Sydney worked at Greystone, a NYC based private commercial real estate finance and investment company. She received her BA in Finance from Southern Methodist University.

Brooke Bansal

Senior Director

Brooke Bansal serves as the Senior Director of Asset Management and is responsible for strategic planning and operational execution within InterCapital’s portfolio. Brooke initially joined Dayrise Residential in 2019 where she oversaw the implementation of value-add programs to residential assets, managed a regional team, and fostered close relationships with Dayrise’s investment partners. Leveraging this deep operational experience, Brooke shifted to the InterCapital team in 2023. Prior to joining Dayrise and InterCapital, Brooke worked in multi-family operations in Houston, Texas. Brooke earned her MBA from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. She received her BS from the University of Oklahoma.

Anastasia Gurney

Director

Anastasia Gurney is a Director of Asset Management at InterCapital and is responsible for evaluating and executing operational strategies for the portfolio. Prior to joining InterCapital, Anastasia worked with global real estate ownership groups, including Related Companies and Brookfield Properties, accumulating over 12 years of expertise in multifamily operations and asset management. Anastasia earned her Master’s in Finance from Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College and, a BA in Psychology from Hunter College, and a BA in International Relations from Bryansk State University in Russia.

Geetu Thani

Director

Geetu Thani is a Director of Portfolio Analytics at InterCapital. She is responsible for translating business needs into actionable insights and opportunities as well as streamlining reporting processes. Geetu joined InterCapital's affiliate, Dayrise Residential, in 2021 where she worked closely with the operations team and led the development of the company's business intelligence platform. She officially joined the InterCapital team in 2024. Geetu has over 10 years of experience in multifamily business operations, financial analysis, budgeting, reporting and data analytics. She earned her MBA in Finance at the University of Houston and her BA from the University of Lethbridge in Canada.
